When seventeen-year-old Maximillion Taylor and his best friend, Jones go to a house party, he doesn’t expect to get kidnapped—much less by a succubus—and she’s not the only one on the hunt.

Thrown into a world of angels and demons, where nothing and no one is what they seem, Max ventures to find his true identity and learn to fight the demons who pursue him. When his origin is revealed, it’s a race against the clock for a battle that will determine whether he can protect the ones he loves or succumb to his true nature. Through lies, betrayal, love and pain, Max must prepare to face the demons before it is too late…

This books sneaks up on the reader, with Max as your “typical teen” going to a party one night, where he is suddenly kidnapped by some baddies. His best friend is occupied upstairs during the party, leaving Max utterly alone. This event undoubtedly opens a nasty can of worms, as he starts asking questions, too many questions. Who is he? Who’s his family? What’s happening all of a sudden? Max could have been normal, no wait, he never could have. Pick up a copy to find out why.

I want to give a deeper review but really even the smallest detail would be too much of a giveaway it might spoil this wonderful book! I cannot wait to pick up the second in the series Greed (Sins of the Fallen). The writing is overall very good, it is one of the authros first series and I think it’s worth a good reading through for anyone interested in a coming of age fantasy/paranormal book.
