Dae Choong (Park Sun Ho) is downright unlucky in love, until he crosses paths with a magical cat named Nebi (Kim Yoo Jung), whose “love cells” can transform anyone into a leading hero. Under the guidance of Nebi, Dae Choong develops his romantic prowess, but is the month-long crash course enough to score the kittenish pop-star Seo Rin (4Minute’s Nam Ji Hyun)? Meanwhile, Dae Choong must also compete with Chun Ji Woon (Baek Sung Hyun), a handsome idol with the hots for Seo Rin.
Alternative titles: Romance Cells / Dating DNA
Love Cells is one of those mini web series, super short episodes and can be completed in one night if you so choose. I love how the cat eats his love cell and suddenly, the cell can turn human or cat! SO CUTE!
This poor boy, Dae Choong, is broke and smelly and just plain unlucky (and a virgin at 27). In a desperate move one of his love cells (Navi) escapes from him and suddenly makes it her mission to help him find love, it’s her life and death on the line after all.
I kept thinking at some point Navi and Dae would become a thing, but truly it’s about Dae Choong and Seo Rin. Who by the way is an idol! There are funny and sweet moments, crazy antics and it all makes for a fun show.
I love the Pleasant Boy commercials, hilarious! They have crazy items for him to use, the draw back, each item can only be used once, like the Honky-tonk pick which lets you play the guitar and make hearts swoon.
THERE IS A SECOND SEASON!!! Also found on Netflix!
